Unlike other applications, Airport Guide is tailored for pilots to assist in flight planning by providing detailed airport information, such as runways meeting specific criteria and proximity to designated locations. The app grants access to the comprehensive AirportGuide.com database containing over 50,000 landing facilities. Many features of Airport Guide for Pilots are accessible offline, allowing users to research airports, conduct E6B calculations with various aviation calculators, and browse through the aviation Book Library.
If online, users can utilize the convenient 'Find Nearby Airports' button on the homepage to instantly display the closest airfields based on GPS coordinates. The search results can be filtered easily to show public airports for quick decision-making during flights.
Upon conducting a search, users can mark airports as Favorites for quick access on the homepage, providing essential weather updates (VFR, MVFR, IFR, LIFR) at a glance. Detailed airport information including METAR data, location details, communication frequencies, runway specifics, FBOs, and fuel availability is also available. Additionally, users can rate and review airports to benefit fellow pilots.
The app offers booking links for car rental and accommodation at each airport, ensuring a seamless travel experience. Users can explore nearby attractions and book activities directly via the 'Things To Do' button.
Further enhancing user experience are more than 375 airport terminal maps allowing individuals to navigate terminals effectively and locate services and gates with ease.
The Airport Guide app is structured around three main sections:

<li>AIRPORT SEARCH: Access the complete AirportGuide.com landing facility database encompassing all types of airports worldwide. Filter your search using various criteria such as airport IDs, facility use, type, location specifics, and more.</li>
<li>BOOK LIBRARY: Gain access to an extensive library of FAA handbooks and Practical Test Standards through the in-app Book Store. Explore samples and download books via in-app purchases.</li>
<li>FLIGHT CALCULATORS: Utilize E6B calculators for efficient flight planning tasks covering categories like wind speed calculations, temperature assessments, airport distance calculations between two airports, and more.</li>
</ul>
Data Disclosure: The airport database utilized by the app is consistent with the one on AirportGuide.com and undergoes regular updates. New database versions are typically released every four weeks as reflected in the app settings. While efforts are made to maintain accuracy, due to frequent changes in airport data, it may not always be entirely precise. Pilots are advised to consult official sources when planning flights.
